Salted Egg Honey Cornflake Cups

Be adventurous this year and try this unique and spicy variation of the Honey Cornflake Cups that we all love so much!

This salted egg version is a crunchy and addictive treat which was originally created as a savoury CNY snack, and not packed into paper cups. However, this sweet Raya version takes it to the next level!

Salted duck egg yolks (boil salted duck eggs, remove yolks and mash them)

Curry leaves

Half a block of butter

Bird’s Eye Chili (Cili Api- sliced)

Half a box of plain cornflakes

Almond flakes (optional)

3 table spoons Honey (diluted with 3 tables spoons warm water)

Pinch of salt



  1. Melt butter in pan, add chilis and curry leaves and fry for 1 min on medium fire
  2. Add the salted egg yolks and combine thoroughly, then add the cornflakes(and optional almond flakes) and completely coat everything evenly.
  3. Pour cornflakes onto lined baking pan and bake at 180C for 10-15 minutes.
  4. After baking, let it cool for 20 minutes, add the diluted honey over the flakes and packed them into mini paper cupcakes and let dry before storingin air tight containers.
